It takes practice and getting used to, but you come to see that [eating until you’re satisfied] fuels your body with the right amount of food, so you maintain good digestion and energy balance....

In general, the answer to that question is “yes,” but there are some details to take into consideration, according to Amit Bar-Or, MD, chief of the multiple sclerosis division at the University of Pennsylvania in Philadelphia. “There’s no reason to consider the flu shot as riskier for people with MS,” Dr. Bar-Or says. “Just having MS does not increase risk for adverse outcomes with the vaccine.” In fact, in guidelines updated in 2019, the American Academy of Neurology (AAN) recommended that people with MS get vaccinated against the flu annually, unless there’s a specific reason they can’t get it, such as an allergy to the vaccine....

But, if you’re avoiding gluten as much as possible and are still experiencing gastrointestinal symptoms, such as abdominal pain, gassiness, bloating, or diarrhea, you may want to ask your physician if you can be evaluated for exocrine pancreatic insufficiency (EPI), a condition in which the pancreas is unable to properly produce digestive enzymes, says Kristi King, MPH, a senior dietitian at Texas Children’s Hospital, in Houston. Other possible EPI symptoms are unexplained weight loss and steatorrhea (fatty stools)....

If current trends continue, according to 2010 projections from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), one in three adults may have the disease by 2050. More than 88 million American adults now have prediabetes, according to the CDC. Prediabetes is a condition marked by above-normal blood sugar levels that aren’t high enough to be diagnosed as type 2 diabetes. The first vaccine in the United States has been granted emergency use authorization (EUA), with distribution underway and inoculation already begun among frontline healthcare providers and assisted-living facility residents. The mRNA vaccine technology has never before been approved, even for emergency use. An estimated 3.7 million people in the United States have trichomoniasis, and the infection is more common in women than in men. The recommendations, published in JAMA, mark the first time the Task Force has urged kids to get screened for anxiety.
